I know several people who claim that those are horrible when you have tasted the more local varieties. The Cavendish is easy to transport and has a long shelf life, but apparently, the taste is inferier to other races.
The best way to eat banana is as dry chips, sprinkled with Indian spices. Raw bananas are trash compared to that, though I do tolerate them as quick snacks.
