      Feel free to not answer but do you think Law and Orde SVU appeals more to women audience? As a guy i never particularly liked SVU altho i liked Olivia Benson. Very human cop

        It’s possible, especially since SVU typically had independent female ADAs and mainline L&O’s Jack McCoy could occasionally be abrasive or dismissive towards his female assistant ADAs.

        But on the other hand, mainline has Jesse L. Martin and his pretty, soulful eyes.

    Whenever I’m sick I will always just put on The Venture Bros. while I recover. The show spanned so many years, makes me feel better watching the show evolve and remembering what point in my life I was in when various episodes aired.

    I will watch a Joy of Painting episode anytime I come across one on PBS (they stream on YouTube but it’s more fun to find it “in the wild”)

      They had it on the tv when I went to lunch a few weeks ago. Watching it was way better than any of the sports on the other walls.

        My friend is super into star trek and convinced me to watch some with him. I’d say go look up a ‘top 5’ of the OG star trek, watch those, then do what the others have suggested.

        Probably a toss up between The Next Generation (TNG) and Deep Space 9 (DS9). Do note that Star Trek series normally need about a season to find their footing. Season 1 of TNG was mid-tier but it still is a source of plenty of memes.

        I think TNG is likely the better starting point. The original series (TOS) is painfully old fashioned, which could ve a good thing or bad depending on your tastes.

          TNG is also painfully old fashioned. Especially the fist two seasons are … hard to watch sometimes.

          Honestly: I would start with VOY. It’s easy to watch, has a certain amount of action, and doesn’t lose it too much with society and politics.

      I’m doing a Dexter rewatch over the holidays. Apparently there are a bunch of sequels/prequels now and I wanna refresh my memory before diving into those shows.;

    Star Trek: Voyager. I was raised on that shit. Not objectively the “best” Star Trek. (Far from the worst, though.) But it’s the one that’s most nostalgic and, indeed, “cozy” for me.

      The first time I watched Voyager, I went into it only knowing that more folks liked TNG and DS9 (at the time I had only ever seen random eps of TNG, TOS, and a few of the TOS movies). So while I went on a random deep watch of all of Trek at the time (Discovery was either about to come out, or had started). I was very happy to find out that Voyager was much better than I expected. Also didn’t take as long to get good (TNG was very weird the first few seasons which I found out quickly).

      After watching all the stuff before Discovery, it felt so different and kind of makes it and the other new shows seem strange. Not always bad, just so much modern effects that take attention away from the actors. So far I am in season 3 of Discovery, season 2 of Picard, and only one episode of SNW. Still looking forward to them, just need to be in a “time for Trek” headspace to power through them like I did for everything before.

      I personally find Enterprise to be the most weirdly cozy of the pre-Discovery shows (not near being the best taken as a whole like TNG/DS9/Voy). Has a nice mix of the “feel” of the 90s shows, but with some of the “modern” effects for me. Sure they went ham on stuff like “we need some kind of ‘directive’ for handling first contact”, and they killed the show as it was really getting its flow. Really curious what even just one more season could have done as that last ep really felt like a quick end and was so jarring on the characters.

      Still pissed that Paramount said they will not do a touch-up remaster for DS9 and Voy like they did for TOS/TNG (and the 1080p remaster for ENT). They say it is because the amount of time and money that TNG alone required, and the sales of the TOS/TNG Blu-rays weren’t high enough. Which sucks since DS9 and Voy are so badly needing something (even a more simple upscale of the non-sfx stuff since the effects would need full re-doing), and the fans of those are really dedicated.

    From, horror show From, it’s so nice to binge watch it. It’s not like true horror but it is like mix of horror, mistery and fantasy and it is so funny to binge watch it and think about all sorts of theorise as to why that place even exist.

    Monk. Most episodes follow the same formula, but it’s always a lot of fun and when they do deviate a bit, it’s so good!
