Yeah, having relatively higher socioeconomic equality is going to reduce crimes of poverty. That’s what you’re seeing in Norway. More money does not fix a brain defect that makes a person want to hurt the people around them 24 hours per day. That article is dealing with a completely different group of people and a completely different moral concern.

Human suffering is a morally complicated situation that doesn’t have winners. There’s never going to be a perfect solution to human nature. The death penalty wasn’t trying to be one- it was a simple community management tool. It prioritized the wellbeing of the whole over the individual.

The language that is closer to your naive language is easier. For English speakers, German would probably be easier than Spanish. For Chinese speakers, Japanese is easier. Personally, I don’t think learning any language is hard, but some people are better with numbers and visuals than with language.
I don’t see the connection, personally. There’s no problem when wealth is probably managed and distributed. Plenty of societies do that with private ownership, and there’s no reason to believe that a communist society would do it better.
Blaming the Republican party is wrong. They’re evil, but it’s the rich continuously stealing more capital and destroying businesses that is the problem. If the South and rural areas had equal access to wealth and education, the identity politics bit wouldn’t work on them.

You need to teach people to the point that they understand what it is enough to avoid it. Otherwise they can be tricked into doing it or helping someone else do it. Knowledge is a barrier. Depending on your other options, you may or may not need it.

Not perfectly, but I had a vision for where I wanted to be, and I more or less got there. I chose a reasonable short-term, stepping stone goal. I didn’t become brilliant, attractive, competent, or overcome my flaws. But like, I’m still here, and my life has marginally improved.
Because the alternative is the rich paying more in taxes, and we can’t have that obviously.
