Someone asked why we don’t have bullet trains and I think my answer there is equally applicable here:
Rampant corruption redirects almost all federal resources to contractors and corporations.

Well you see I’m a Virgo, and as a Virgo…

The analogy you picked really doesn’t match your point at the end, unless you somehow think astrology is nuanced (it isn’t, it’s bullshit).

Dude the post is owned by Bezos
Edit: just to be clear though the paper in the photo looks very suspicious

It’s kinda insane to frame OpenAI as remotely equal to Apple with “two of the world’s biggest tech companies”.
This is kinda like how Tesla is a bigger company than other car companies combined by market cap but has a paltry market percentage and amount of cars sold.
Market caps and valuations run purely on vibes and have for some time now.

We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas

If only the founding fathers had written the right to bear apps shall not be infringed in an amendment.
Oh well can’t change the ancient text now, just have to be governed by it forever. 🤷 (It’s a shame the ancient powder-wigged wizards that wrote the constitution weren’t clairvoyant.)

please just make an android alternative
I want a phone that isn’t a closed ecosystem race to the bottom shit phone
I was in the burbs so we all covered the whole thing.
I downloaded jiggler on my MacBook and never looked back.
I really liked being a pizza delivery driver pre-GPS. It did require some skill, but you learned quickly about how things work:
It was easily the best “shitty job” I’ve ever had.

All of that wannabe AGI horseshit is preventing these things from specialization and becoming more efficient and useful IMO.
In my recent usage of LLMs I’ve come to think of them as a type of eye-poppingly expensive, inefficient interpreter.
Losing a lot of the bullshit could make them efficient and inexpensive. To an extent, that’s what Anthropic has already been doing by making models that are mostly code focused.

Nobody deserves it more

I switched to caveman on Claude Code. It cuts the token count; it’s the same output, and it appears to me to be faster as well.

My boss was talking about using AI agents for CI/CD processes. Like, I get using them to build CI/CD processes, but involving AI agents in the actual build process is ridiculously stupid. A representative from Microsoft specifically said in a training session to not use them that way so it’s obviously not only my stupid ass boss.
Doubt. Doubt all of it.
