Log Cabin Republicans, a leading organization for gay conservatives, will no longer advocate for transgender people, a significant break within the LGBTQ movement as the GOP makes opposition to trans rights a political and policy priority.

The influential group added support for transgender issues to its platform more than a decade ago amid growing cultural acceptance. But Log Cabin Republicans President Ross Hemminger told CNN that in recent years his members have grown increasingly uncomfortable with the focuses of the trans community, including gender-affirming care for minors and the participation of trans girls and women in sports.

Every one of them I’ve ever met were rich trust fund kids who just wanted to pull up the ladder behind them.

It was never about advocating for other gay/trans people, they just want to carve out a space where they personally do not have to pay taxes on their third house in p-town.

Gay conservatives are even more of a token within the Republican Party than black conservatives; I wouldn’t call their influence ‘significant’ beyond trying to drive a wedge in the LGBTQ+ movement.

“I’m on the good ones! I helped MAGA with those evil trans people!” The Log Cabin Republican says as they are being taken to the Death Camps by ICE.

    Log Cabin Republicans.

Betraying everyone in the desperate, fleeting hope that big daddy Republicans will give them a few scraps off the table since 1977

They should change their name to Republicans because there aren’t any modifiers you can put on that to make it better, so they just need to drop them.

Okay. Tolerating these people was an ethical struggle for me. Now I can just respect them as much as they respect trans people.
