PieFed has done it once again, this time adding ‘warning’ labels for opposing ideological perspectives, well at least one; Can’t find any warnings for fascism or capitalism 🤔

This can be demonstrated here: https://piefed.social/c/globalnews/p/1697164/sudan-civil-war-spills-over-into-neighboring-chad-peoples-dispatch

Piefed is software. You’re referring to the piefed.social instance.

Yep. This is a setting I put in for my instance only, not hard-coded.

Various domains have warnings for different things.

Note this is purely on piefed.social specifically, not some universal thing.

      Piefed.Social is Rimus personal kingdom.

Knowing how he acts with hiding his ideology in code, I suspect it won’t be long before we see this rolled out in a future update.

The development of Piefed has been for default settings to be removed and detached over time, not added in.

Only if someone discovers them and raises the alarms. Rimu sneaks this shit in all the time.

I’m pretty sure the vast majority of all penned in functions were present at base before Piefed had anyone specifically scrutinising the code, before the platform was more popular. That is to say that the software itself was originally more designed in a personalised way, and then many core functions were removed. Yes, someone noticed it each time - but I am not aware of anything specifically ‘snuck in’ here.

Funny how Lemmy is far more ideologically neutral than shitlib software
