Hopefully with 100% fewer zombies than a game that it looks like.

Wow! That engine is pure art! Visuals look amazing, never seen retro pixelart conveyed that well in 3D! Wishlisted and followed!

The engine is Godot, which he chose specifically because it was open enough that he could rip out the existing rendering code and replace it.

Step 1 - Get really excited and wishlist this.

    Step 2 - Wait… lots.

Step 3 - Finally it’s available! Go to Steam page reviews and it’s “Mostly Negative” and filled with comments that start with “I really wanted to like this but…” and “Trash”, “Slow, laggy even on my Geforce Quantum Space Folding powered by unicorn tears GFX card”.

No shade on the game which looks awesome but the Steam review system is so badly broken it’s such a bummer.

Steam reviews are one data point in your pocket. And I’ve found they average out to be pretty useful.

I think “Mixed” is where Steam reviews falter, at least for me. If a game is mostly negative it’s usually bad and if it’s very positive or overwhelmingly positive it’s usually good. But I’ve certainly had experiences with several games that are much better than “Mixed” reviews would indicate.

very cautiously optimistic. Seen enough hype on games that didn’t turn out great based on artstyle/graphics alone.
